Waking up with sun shining on his eyes he was so excited. Sam got ready because he was going to a different country. A few minutes later Sam was ready to go. Sam grabbed his bags and headed towards the van. “Be good when you get there ok,” sam’s mum exclaimed.
Sam rolled his eyes as his mum was talking to him.
They arrived at the airport. Sam and his mum took the bags inside. Sam said his goodbyes and went to check in. He went into the plane feeling really excited He looked outside The window I won't be seeing Australia in a while sam thought to himself.
About 3hrs later The plane landed Sam walked out and he saw his grandpa with all his cousins and aunties. They all welcomed him and took him to his grandpa’s house. Minutes later they arrived to a really big house, “who lives in here” Sam asked I do grandpa said. “You have a big house sam exclaimed,” Sam wondered what happened to his other house because that had all his memories from when he was little boy and how he remembered about the stories grandpa had been telling him from when he was in the army.
They walked in the house and Sam’s cousins took his bags into his room he was going to sleep in. As his cousin’s were doing that, Sam and his grandpa sat down on the couch. Grandpa wanted to tell him something. Grandpa looked really sad, that was when Sam knew it was going to be bad news.
“I am going to die soon because I am very sick that is why I called your mum to send you here, I know that you we have not spend that much time together,” Grandpa Explained, Sam’s smile was fading away. Tears started to pour down his face. “How long do you have to live,” Sam asked. Grandpa didn’t really know because his doctor didn’t tell him yet. Grandpa wiped Sam’s tears away and took him into The back yard. When sam was little Grandpa didn’t get to finish off the story of him in the army because Sam and his family moved to Australia. That was the saddest day grandpa have ever had.
Grandpa showed Sam the necklace his wife gave to him before he left to go to the army. “This means everything to me because this was my last thing that she gave me and that was the last day that I saw her.” Grandpa’s wife died 6 months after he left to go to the army. Sam felt really sorry for him.
6 months have almost past and Sam was having great fun with his Grandpa. It was 8 o'clock in the morning Sam heard heaps of noise, he wipe his eyes and went to check out what was happening. All his aunties and cousins were running in his grandpa’s room. Sam ran to his grandpa’s room knowing what had happened. His Grandpa was just lying on the bed. His grandpa have sadly passed away. His Aunties and cousin were all crying. Sam out of the room and walked to the backyard and started crying.
The next day they did a funeral for his grandpa at the cemetery Sam’s mum came and sat next to him. Sam said a speech telling how much his grandpa did for him and how his grandpa never gave up on him. After Sam finished his speech he laid the necklace that the grandpa said that it meant everything to him. When he sat down he heard a whisper but no one was there he knew it was his grandpa telling him that he did the right thing. Sam felt happy of himself to.
